We look back on our conversation with Julia, the designer behind the London Hybrid Leggings, where we got an insight into the thoughts and vision behind these innovative hybrid riding leggings. Even now, in 2026, we are just as proud of the design that combines style, comfort, and functionality – a favorite in our riding leggings collection.
Can you tell us a bit about your vision when you started designing the hybrid riding leggings?
"Absolutely! When we started working on the hybrid leggings, our main goal was to create a garment that combines the best of both worlds – the classic style of traditional riding pants and the superior comfort of modern leggings. I wanted to create something that not only looked good but also allowed riders to feel free and comfortable in the saddle.
Those who pay attention can see that the details and cut of the leggings are very reminiscent of our previous riding pants model 'Miami.' I think Miami is the absolute most stylish pant in our range, but the material was too stiff to achieve the perfect fit – the sturdier fabric didn’t suit our target audience. To ensure the design wasn’t lost entirely, as I really love its aesthetics, I continued developing it to create an entirely new pant that I believe suits our audience much better. Our Ohio riding leggings are the most loved model by our customers thanks to their fit. So the vision when we started the project was to take Miami’s stylish details and combine them with the perfect fit from Ohio."
That sounds amazing! Can you tell us more about the process when developing a new model?
"You have to start with a clear vision, just like I mentioned before. We took a stylish riding pant and transformed it into something as comfortable as leggings. Then we identify the target audience – in this case, our Ohio-loving customers. Fit and comfort are crucial for this group. I wanted a pant as comfortable as their favorite leggings but more dressed-up. The material is key. London’s fabric is slightly thicker than Ohio’s for extra compression and luxury, but keeps the same great properties."
How do you feel about the final result?
"Personally, I’m thrilled! The wide waistband and flexible fit make them fantastic. I hope our loyal Ohio customers will try this new model. Many requested a more dressed-up leggings model where a belt works, and I think these leggings meet that expectation in every way."
